Individual, Marital, and Family Therapy
Hypnotherapy and Brief Solution Focused Treatment
I regard all therapeutic encounters as a partnership in which the client brings expertise in their individual strengths and abilities, and the therapist brings expertise in the treatment issues. This collaborative process identifies the outcome desired by the client(s) and develops a plan to achieve that outcome.
Child and Adolescent Work:
The context for child and adolescent work is almost always some degree of family therapy. Youth live their lives within a family system, and change involves support and follow through by all involved.
General anxiety, panic episodes, agoraphobia, and obsessive/compulsive problems can be quite debilitating. There is great hope for individuals who suffer from these issues. In most cases, long term resolution means full recovery and no need for ongoing medication. To learn more about Anxiety Disorders, please visit Dr. Reid Wilson’s web site: anxieties.com
Hypnosis and Ericksonian Approaches:
Milton Erickson pioneered the use of clinical hypnosis, and has been a major force in the development of brief and strategic approaches. Michael Munion has been affiliated with the Milton Erickson Foundation since 1980, and has been faculty at International Congresses on Ericksonian Approaches since 1989. He is also a member of the Phoenix Institute of Ericksonian Therapy.
The Pain Project:
The current opioid crisis is due in large measure to the over prescription of opiates for the treatment of chronic pain. These medications, while useful for acute pain, actually can make the experience of chronic pain worse, and they are highly addictive. Since early 2017, Michael Munion has been the Chief Psychology Officer for The Pain Project, which provides tele-health solutions and treatment for individuals suffering chronic pain.
